Derby Wins Two International Marketing Awards

Derby Academy recently won two 2020 Bronze InspirED School Marketers Brilliance Awards for its enrollment/admissions package and enrollment/admissions video in the only international competition that recognizes excellence in private and independent school marketing and communications exclusively. The Brilliance Awards are sponsored by InspirED School Marketers, a website that provides “brilliant ideas and brain food” for private school administrators around the globe. 

The entries were judged by a volunteer panel of 69 marketing experts from around the world who are professionals in private schools or businesses that specialize in school marketing. The entries were scored on creativity, persuasiveness, design, copy, photography, and overall appeal.

The standout winning creative projects included our admissions package “Not Your Average School Day” which highlights a not-so-typical day in the life of a Derby student in both the Primary School and Lower School and Middle School and Upper School—showcasing specialized programs and robust academic offerings. Brilliance Awards judges remarked, “I like the chronological construct, bright colors, engaging photos, and bold back cover.”

The second winning work included an admissions video, “Why Relationships Matter,” which emphasizes the importance of empowering faculty to build meaningful relationships with students. “The theme of this video—relationships matter—is a great focus and is brilliantly executed. The simplicity of the video and the narration really highlights to potential parents why this is a special learning community,” said 2020 Brilliance Awards judges.
