Derby Serves, Derby's community service-learning group, recently partnered with Daddy’s Beach Club in Hull to organize and deliver boxed Thanksgiving meals to families in need on Thanksgiving Day.
The event brought together Derby families and alumni, as well as faculty and staff across divisions to serve over 600 hot turkey dinners.
Derby student Nate ’23 and his family helped at the event, serving meals and packaging food to be delivered to the local community. “I’m really glad I could help those people have a good Thanksgiving,” Nate shared with faculty and classmates at a recent Morning Meeting.
Thank you to all the members of the community who volunteered their time and effort, to serve meals, and to help lift the spirits on such a special day. A big thank you to members of Derby Serves, who helped organize this meaningful event and continue to expand Derby’s partnership with local organizations and make a difference in the community.
