Every year we offer our 6th-8th graders the opportunity to attend AISNEs Middle School Diversity Conference.

Belonging At Derby Parent/Caregiver Group

Belonging At Derby is a group of parents and caregivers whose mission is to foster an environment of inclusivity and belonging at Derby Academy. We collaborate with Derby Family Connect and Administration to provide opportunities for learning, conversations, and experiences for the Derby community. 

Board DEIB Committee

As part of the ongoing commitment to prioritizing DEIB work at Derby Academy, the Board of Trustees formed the DEIB Committee. They work closely with the Head of School to set goals for diversifying the student and faculty population, make budgetary recommendations, and engage in collaborative conversation about ways Derby can become a more equitable community.

Diversity Directions

In the fall of 2021, Derby engaged Diversity Directions, a leading consulting group that works exclusively with independent schools, to conduct a qualitative assessment of our current practices, systems, and culture. The results of the report helped to inform our Strategic DEIB Plan.
