Employment & CIT
Derby Academy Summer Programs is looking for passionate, talented individuals who love working with children and sharing their talents! If you are interested in becoming a member of our 2025 staff, send your resume and cover letter to Summer Programs Director, Tina Johnson, at tjohnson@derbyacademy.org.
Please be sure your letter specifically includes classes in the curriculum you are able to teach or co-teach (see course descriptions for reference), and details your experience teaching or working with children. Feel free to share in your cover letter any new class ideas you have.
Teachers with experience working with 4–7 year olds are strongly encouraged to apply.
Counselor-in-Training Program
Students who are rising high school juniors, seniors and college freshmen are encouraged to apply to our CIT Program. Fully integrated into the staff, the CITs assist with some classes, co-teach others, and third year CITs might teach a course on their own. The goal of the CIT Program is to assist the staff in classes and at the same time gain experience teaching in their area of interest. CITs are paid a stipend.
Deadline to Apply: March 1, 2025
Limited spots are filled on a rolling basis.
All applicants will have a brief interview (in person or by Zoom). Applicants will be informed by April 1 or sooner if they are offered a position. If hired, all CITs complete the same set of employment paperwork required of all MA camp employees.
