Daily After Care Program (Grades Pre-K–5)

After Care at Derby runs Monday through Thursday from 3 PM until either 4:00 or 6:00 PM and from 12:30–4:00 PM on Friday. Occasional drop-ins are allowed. Children in our After Care program participate in outside play, arts and crafts activities, creative games and seasonal projects. 

Instrumental Program (Grades 1–8) 

Derby Academy offers a vibrant After School Instrumental Program for students to further their study of instrumental music in a private on-campus lesson. Instrumental faculty members are professional musicians with degrees in music education or performance. 

The Instrumental Program is offered in two sessions, each session equalling roughly ½ of the academic school year. Registration happens in August and in December. There are 12 lessons per session and each lesson is 30 minutes. There is a recital for family and friends at the end of both sessions. Spots are limited.

Enrichment Classes (Grades 4 & 5)

After school enrichment classes take place in multi-week sessions three times a year. A sample of classes includes: Movement, Homework, Yoga, Robotics, Improv, Visual Arts, and Sports Clubs.

A few times a year 5-week Friday afternoons basketball sessions are offered to students in Grades 1–6. There is a spring Friday Golf Program offered as well.
