Model UN Students Respond to “Crisis”

A group of six Derby Academy Model United Nations students were invited to participate in a special December Invitational Model UN Conference at Northeastern University on December 8.

Reserved for the top delegates from each school, the “crisis” conference paired delegates with students from other schools to represent members of the European Union. Student delegates reacted in real-time to aggressive actions being taken by Vladimir Putin, as Belarus sought to join the European Union.

All six students demonstrated excellent diplomacy and represented Derby's Model UN Club proudly. Congratulations to Trew Strong ’19 and Connor Steele ’20, who were both awarded “Best Negotiator” for their diplomatic roles in their committee.
