Model UN Club Earns High Awards

The Derby Academy Model UN Club recently attended the Global Leadership Conference on Sunday, September 30, winning several of the highest awards.

Hosted by the United Nations Association of Greater Boston at Suffolk Law School, 21 Derby student-delegates tackled the world problem of Malaria alongside nearly 200 other students from 15 area schools during the first conference of the academic year.

There were four major committee rooms where debates and negotiations took place, one of which was chaired by Derby alum Julia Temple ’16, a proud graduate of the Derby Model UN Club. Out of those four rooms, Derby Academy student-delegates took home three “Best Delegate Awards” for their performance – the highest award given.

Congratulations to Charlotte Wolford, Georgia Barrett, Trew Strong, Reese Jensen, Eliza Sadhwani, and Max Daniello on their successful teamwork and global problem-solving skills.
