Music and the Brain: Why every student plays an instrument at Derby
Discover why all Derby students learn to play an instrument beginning in fourth grade There is a twofold purpose for this: they experience the “joy” of a hand-ons musical experience, and we believe in the supporting research that this enhances learning and mastery of other subjects such as math, language, and science. You will also find out about a variety of instrumental ensemble options available to all Middle and Upper Schoolers.
