The Derby Fund

Every day at Derby, students are inspired, challenged, and supported by the people, places, and programs that make our school extraordinary. The Derby Fund is what keeps all of that thriving.

Like most independent schools, Derby relies on annual giving to bridge the gap between what tuition covers and the full cost of a Derby education. We intentionally set tuition below the actual per-student expense so that more families can experience all that Derby has to offer—and gifts to the Derby Fund make that possible.

Many employers will match charitable contributions, allowing you to double or even triple your impact.

Search for your employer in our Matching Gift database, or check with your Human Resources department to learn how to participate. You will be recognized in our Annual Report of Giving for the combined total of your gift and the matching contribution.

Appreciated securities, including stocks, bonds, and mutual funds, may be donated to the School. Under current tax law, donors may receive a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the security and may avoid paying capital gains tax on the appreciation.

To help us promptly acknowledge your gift, please ask your broker to include your name on the transaction confirmation. Once the securities are received in Derby’s brokerage account, the School will provide written acknowledgment of your gift, including the mean value on the date of receipt for charitable contribution purposes.
