Sarah Derby Merit Scholarship
A Transformational Education is Within Reach
The Sarah Derby Merit Scholarship is awarded annually to one or two new, incoming Grade 4-8 students who qualify for tuition assistance and live in a local town or city that is currently underrepresented in the Derby community. This includes but is not limited to the following communities: Abington, Braintree, Hull, Marshfield, Milton, Pembroke, Quincy, Randolph, Rockland and Weymouth.
The recipients will be selected based upon their strong academic potential, promise of contributing positively to the culture of our school community, and interest in participating in all facets of our programs including academics, arts and athletics. The recipient will be ready to embrace our motto of “Improve Both Mind and Heart”. The award amounts will be determined based on demonstrated need as calculated by Clarity, an organization that serves many independent schools throughout the country. All applicants must complete the tuition assistance application process.
The Sarah Derby Merit Scholarship recipients will be joining a school that values community, strong interpersonal relationships, and academic challenge as well as fosters the skills of innovation, critical thinking and a lifelong passion for learning.
