The annual Camp Fair is coming up and Mardie Orshak is looking for volunteers to help out. The PA will be accepting contributions to the Faculty/Staff Appreciation Fund until the end of April. This year’s Faculty/Staff Appreciation Day will be held on May 14th. Every dollar contributed to the Fund will be used to buy gifts for all of our wonderful faculty and staff. Contributions should be sent to Kari O’Donnell, PA treasurer, via the Main Office. Please contact Kari at kariod@comcast.net if you have any questions. Congratulations to Derby staff and volunteers for the most successful Bookfair the Barnes & Noble at the Derby Street Shoppes has ever hosted! The event raised $3,000 for the Derby Library. According to Rob Kelley of Barnes & Noble, “Derby stood out more so than other schools – coffee hour, gift wrapping, the holiday concert, it was just genius. What a great way to bring people into the store.” Thanks to everyone who supported the Bookfair and Derby!
The first Winter Greens Sale raised $650 for the PA. Many thanks to Patty McInerney and Alicia Casper for coordinating the sale. The greens were beautiful and a great buy! Thanks to Patty’s work, Derby now has an account at the Boston Flower Exchange, which allows us to purchase plants, flowers, and decorative accessories at wholesale prices. If you need flowers, etc. for a special event or if you would like to run a Spring Plant Sale, please contact Karen Connolly at keconnolly@comcast.net or 781-545-6322.
Many thanks to Alicia Rawson and Maria Murphy for organizing the Holiday Decorating Event in December. Participants made boxwood trees for a tabletop while enjoying good company and wine. A good time was had by all!
