Grades 7 - 8
Each year we expect to have a number of openings in Grade 7. In some years we have a few openings in Grade 8.
Filing an Application By completing the Preliminary Application, you start the application process. We do accept applications throughout the year and act on them depdending on availability of places. Other information and forms will be sent to you as part of the application procedure:
Evaluating Applicants
We evaluate applicants through parent interviews, candidate visits to current grade levels, school reports, teacher evaluations, and age-appropriate tasks while visiting Derby. Those applying for Grades Seven and Eight are asked to take the Independent School Entrance Exam. For those applying to our Upper School we look for demonstrated academic ability, motivation, and social responsibility.
