 | The Admission Office welcomes your inquiries and urges you to contact us in the fall or early winter in the year preceding anticipated entrance. Our application process is designed to be a learning experience for both family and school. We invite families to tour our campus, observe classes, and freely ask questions about our programs — in short to learn as much as they can about the school. Our admission committees, meanwhile, are eager to get to know the applicants and their families.
Each year our committees strive to balance the genders, personalities, and talents of our applicants to ensure smoothly functioning classes while also attempting to support current families, increase diversity, and enroll new families. Since each class at Derby is unique in composition, some of these goals become more important than others when selecting students.
Derby Academy seeks a group of boys and girls who enjoy the academic challenges of school and who are eager to participate fully in the school's many and varied programs while being positive contributors to the Derby community. The school is committed to diversity, believing that it will enrich the experience of everyone, and actively looks for students of diverse cultures and backgrounds.
We accept applications for all grades, Prekindergarten - Grade 8, on a first or second-round basis depending on the time of year and the availability of places.
