 | Support the 2011-2012 Annual Fund
The 2011 - 2012 Annual Fund supports mission-critical expenses such as providing our faculty and students with personal and technical resources, maintaining our strong academic, artistic, athletic and social curriculum and strengthening our mission to Improve Both Mind and Heart. During this fiscal year, please join together as parents, alumni/ae, grandparents, faculty and friends to work towards the goal of raising $500,000. Annual Fund contributions have helped the school to give our students a strong academic foundation.
We continue to need your support to ensure excellence in our programs. Derby remains financially sound under the strong leadership from its governance - the Board of Trustees and the school's administration. Students are flourishing in their classes under the guidance of inspirational and dedicated teachers.

What is the Annual Fund and what does it fund?
The Annual Fund’s primary goal is to raise money to support Derby’s annual operating budget. To list a few things, your gift helps minimize tuition increases, keep classroom sizes small, ensure competitive faculty salaries and professional development, bolster financial aid and support various arts and athletic opportunities.
How much should we contribute?
Last year, the average gift from current parents was $1,700. Our goal is 100% participation in every grade—at a level which you feel comfortable giving. Every gift, no matter the size, makes a difference.
Doesn’t tuition cover the Derby experience?
Tuition only covers 84% of a Derby education. In 2010, each student’s educational experience was supplemented by more than $1,600 from the Annual Fund. |
| | "I'm sure you've heard it before, but I can't help but say that Derby was the bedrock and foundation of our child's education. A remarkable place, a happy place with a curriculum and faculty to match; everything we wanted for him (and so much more that we'd not thought of) when he arrived as a PK boy. Too many good teachers, of course, to name them all, but Mrs. Stolp, Mrs. Henderson, Mrs. Underwood and most of all Mr. Connelly were the deepest influences."
