A funny thing happened along the way: Derby Academy became a big part of who you are -- and you are still a big part of Derby, too. By joining your classmates and other alums in the Derby Alumni/ae Association, you can stay in touch with people (and a place) that mean a lot to you.
Events
The annual Turkey Day Reunion is held at the school for high school alums just before the Thanksgiving break.
Approximately every 18 months, parents of former Derby students are invited back to the school for a Parents Reunion. These have been fun and festive events often show-casing artwork done by parents of alums and friends of the school. We had a wonderful wine-tasting Reunion event on Thursday evening, November 17, 2011. Our next reunion will be in the spring of 2013!
The annual Alum/Parent Hockey Game has become an winter tradition with alums and parents competing as a Dark or a Light cheered on by fellow alums, parents and families. On Friday evening, February 24, 2012 alums and parents faced off for a thrilling hour of great skating preceded by a family skate and shoot-out for children. On Thursday, May 17, 2012 Derby will be having their first Golf and Tennis Tournament at Oyster Harbors Golf Club in Osterville, MA. For more information, see the tab on the website's homepage.
During the last week of school, the Alumni/ae Association welcomes Grade 8 students into the association - their life-long connection to the school.
