Grades 4 - 6
Each year we expect to have openings in Grades 4-6 as we expand the number of students in each of these grades by adding an additional section of classes.
Filing an Application
As part of the admission process, prospective families should complete an application. We do accept applications throughout the year and act on them depending on availability of places. Other information and forms will be sent to you as part of the application procedure.
Evaluating ApplicantsWe evaluate applicants through parent interviews, candidate visits to current grade levels, school reports, teacher evaluations, and age-appropriate tasks while visiting Derby. Those applying to Grade Four are evaluated during their visits; those applying for Grades Five and Six are asked to take the Independent School Entrance Exam. For those applying to our Middle School we look for demonstrated academic ability, motivation and social responsibility.
